Distinguished Conduct Medal
London Gazette, 25th and 26th January 1918 and 9th September 1917. Action Date, 16th August 1917 – Steenbeek. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. When his company was held up in front of a road by rifle fire, he with two others went out on their own initiative, crossing from shell-hole to shell-hole, and finally getting in rear of the road, where they bombed out dug-outs containing two or three men each. They killed about nineteen of the enemy and then signaled for the company to advance.
